Today's
Catholic school is called to be a countercultural beacon in
an ever-darkening world. The schools role in society has never
been more important. Values once taken for granted are now routinely
ignored or challenged. Values are "clarified" rather than committed
to. In circumstances such as these, families and schools must
forge even stronger ties.
As
you know, the Sharing The Future annual campaign started in
Fall of 1992. Tuition alone has never covered the total cost
of educating a child. Through the active support of parishioners,
parents, alumni and friends, our school has benefited in numerous
ways: new reference materials & educational resources, updated
science & mathematics textbooks, computer equipment and software,
and capital improvements.
Our
school's mission is entrusted to the spiritual and academic
opportunities which enrich our young people. It is amazing how
much passion, spirit, and excitement can be generated by the
teachers every day with the resources we have at Immaculate
Conception. They make each dollar count in using school time
to teach students. The children leave Immaculate Conception
with a strong academic background and the knowledge that God
is willing to help us each day of our lives. They take with
them the doctrine of the Church as well as the essential ability
to use prayer in their daily lives.
Lend
your support and help us make a difference this year! The credo
of the Catholic school has consistently been that parents are
the primary educators of their children. The Catholic school
is an extension of the home; the school reinforces the values
and beliefs lived and taught there. This is at the heart of
what the National Congress identified as a fundamental belief
about Catholic school and society: "Catholic schools are
called to be catalysts for social change based on gospel values."
The
children are our future, your gift of support is so important
today. Join with us to provide a new generation of students
the ability to become tomorrow's leaders today.
