Dear Parents/Guardians:
We no sooner completed the parade of Halloween costumes on October 31, and we find the holiday season is fast approaching. It’s the time of year when we gather with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving and the birth of our Lord. Here at ICS the students and faculty are working toward reaching their goal of collecting 2008 canned goods for the Jameison Center before we break for Thanksgiving. It is our way of showing the community that we understand there are many individuals less fortunate than ourselves. If your in the school between now and Thanksgiving, bring a canned good to add to the collection.
During the weeks of Advent the teachers and I will be doing our best to help our children stay focused on the “Christ” in Christmas. The primary grades will decorate a Jesse Tree and the intermediate and middle school students will be learning songs of praise in their music classes. We hope you will take some time to gather with your children in the next six weeks and read the scriptures beautiful stories about this sacred time of the church’s year. We hope, too, that you will attend our Christmas program on Tuesday, December 9 beginning at 7 p.m. The students will be presenting “The Mystery of Simon Shepherd” under the direction of our fine arts teacher, Mrs. Alisa Ramer.
Finally, we hope that you and yours have a safe and blessed Christmas.
In Christ,
Kathryn Bennett, Principal
